Set Options...

The "Set Options..." command provides a tool to change some miscellaneous user options. When invoked, a dialog box is created where the options are set.

Currently the only available option is the method in which messages are sent to copyseis ltd., specifically orders (as per the View menu's Order List command) and other miscellaneous messages. The two methods are EMail, which create a message and then send it with Windows SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol). The other method is the internet, which sends a file to the copyseis server via FTP (file transfer protocol). The server then generates an email from the tranferred file and delivers it to the intended mail box. The advantage of the EMail option is that it is faster, and that the email can be tracked using the client's own email routing software. However, many companies block outgoing email not sent from a specific person's email account, under the assumption that such mail is generated by a computer virus. If the Email option fails because of such a block, then the Internet option should work. If neither work, then a communications port of some kind will have to be opened on the client's network to allow InView to function properly. As a general rule, InView will not function unless the website www.copyseis.com is visible through both port 80 (using a web browser) and port 21 (using an ftp client).
