The "FTP" menu provides tools that allow the client to transfer files to and from the copyseis server via the internet and the file transfer protoca; (FTP). Because of security measures in place on the server, InView's ftp facilities are the only way to transfer files to the server, as access by all commercial ftp client programs is blocked.
The copyseis ftp system is configured so that each client has their own upload site (where files sent to copyseis are placed) and their own download site (where the copyseis staff will place files that the client can then download to their own computer). The download and upload sites are separate, so that a file uploaded by a client can not be subsequently downloaded again without the intervention of the copyseis staff. Neither are the ftp sites are visible to any other client.
