Seismic Lines...

The "View | Seismic Lines..". command brings up the seismic lines dialog box, within which seismic line information may be displayed and associated tasks performed. If the InView edition is editing-enabled the entries in the seismic line information boxes can be edited.

The "Area Name" pull down list displays the list of geographical areas containing seismic lines in your company's database. But only one letter's worth of areas are displayed at a time. When first opened, the pull down list displays all the areas starting with the letter A, then all the letters B through Z. If the letter B is then selected, all the areas starting with the letter B are displayed for selection, followed by the letters C through Z. And so on. When a new area or letter is chosen the entries of the "Line Number" pull down list are rewritten to display those seismic lines in the new area.

The "Client Name" pull down list appears only in those editions of InView authorized to access the database of more than one client. It is provided to allow the client database to be selected.

The "Line Number" pull down list displays the list of seismic lines that are associated with the currently selected area. When a new line number is chosen the information displayed in the remainder of the window is rewritten to display the information pertaining to the chosen line.

In editing enabled editions of InView, the text boxes are editable (and so appear acitive, i.e. white, rather than grey). The white editable areas allow information in the database to be modifiedby simply typing over the text boxes' contents. Changes made to the text boxes are however not written to the database until the "OK" or "Apply" buttons are pressed. The "Apply" button is not present in non-editing editions of InView.

The "Close" button closes the seismic lines window. This button performs the same function as clicking the close box in the upper right corner.

The "Previous" button selects and displays the previous seismic line in the Copyseis database. The seismic lines are ordered alphabetically ordering by area then alphanumerically by line number.

The "Next" button selects and displays the next seismic line in the Copyseis database. The seismic lines are ordered alphabetically ordering by area then alphanumerically by line number.

The "Print Preview..." button creates a page-setup dialog box which proceeds to the standard Windows' "print preview" display. The information for the currently selected seismic line is shown.

The "Print..." button creates a page-setup dialog box which proceeds to the standard Windows' printing sequence. The information for the currently selected seismic line is printed.

The "Batch Print..." button creates a search for window which can be used to select all the lines to print or print preview. This button performs the same function as the "Edit | Print Seismic Lines..." command.

The "Batch Export..." button creates a search for window which can be used to select all the lines to be exported to Excel. This button performs the same function as the "Edit | Export Seismic Lines to Excel..." command.

The "Export To Excel..." button exports the information for the currently selected seismic line to an Excel file, then opens that file with Excel. The standard Windows' "save as" dialog box appears into which a name for the Excel file must be entered. The format of the Excel file is as follows: the information for the seismic line is displayed in a worksheet called "Line", while the storage items associated with that line (that is, the information displayed in the "Storage" list), is displayed in a worksheet called "Storage".

The "Export To Text..." button exports the information for the currently selected seismic line to a tab-delimited text file. The standard Windows' "save as" dialog box appears into which a name for the text file must be entered.
